Avoiding Shifts- Exercise 2

Directions: Revise each sentence to correct the faulty shift (underlined). When you are finished, click the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1.  Anyone is eligible for the scholarship if they write an essay.



2.  The judge said that I was guilty and would I please follow the bailiff to jail.



3.  Last Saturday Margaret read all the novels in her home and eats two bags of candy.

5.  The contractor changed the schedule after concrete was poured into the wrong area by the crew.

9.  Ben ran down the hall when the alarm was heard.
